Nanoallotropes: Allotropy in Nanoparticle Superlattices
Date & Time : Wednesday 20th June, 2018 at 4:00 PM
Venue : SSCU Auditorium
My talk will introduce a new class of materials- allotropes of nanoparticle superlattices. These were created by a newly-developed technique, by chemically removing one of the two types of nanoparticles from a self-assembled lattice-like structure, producing materials with regularly spaced vacancies at specific sites. Nanoallotropes of gold were used to harvest different optical properties. Such nanoallotropes expose new avenues to fabricate ultra-small electronic devices, light filters and metamaterials.
