Two-Photon Absorption is a photophysical process by which a molecule simultaneously absorbs two photons to reach an excited state. It has important advantages over one-photon absorption i.e. NIR absorption,
excitation in confined focal region; which has led to its applications in confocal microscopy, photodynamic therapy, etc. In my talk, I will primarily focus on the theory of two-photon absorption, its
potential applications and structure-property correlation that can serve as a guideline for the development of efficient two-photon dyes.
