Current Research
My current research is broadly in the area of synthesis, structure and properties of various types of solid materials such as metal oxides, mixed metal oxides, metal phosphates, and hetero polycompounds and their application in the area of heterogeneous catalysis. Carrying out in situ spectroscopic studies on molecular structure of solids and surfaces by using Infra Red & Raman Spectroscopies. Application of chemometric  methods for spectral analysis using Multivariate Curve Resolution techniques. Theoretical understanding of surfaces and structures by Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations. Modeling of non-linear optical properties of small and large molecular systems & modeling electronic processes such as exciton dissociation, exciton transfer, singlet fission in conjugated organic systems with a view to understanding the basic physical processes in organic solar cells.
