Abstract::

Molecular switches are omnipresent. Gaining knowledge about the same in depth will give us a better understanding of the several phenomena which are indispensable for life on earth. Molecular switches are present in biological systems as well as in in animate objects. They are even used as binary systems in the developing field on molecular computation.

The seminar will give a brief insight into molecular switches in nature, different types of stimuli responsive molecular switching systems, photo-active molecular switches with few examples and how the multi-responsive molecular switches are used as molecular logic gates which finds applications in the molecular logic-based computation.
